Uganda advice

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Well its pleasing to say that the network has worked super efficiently and we have now gained the structural advice that was required at short notice by a client working on a school project in Uganda from an engineer working in the feild… many thanks to those of you who had offered assistance.

Ugandan? We need you…

If you are an Architect or Engineer who is from, or has experience of working in Uganda and could help with construction/design advise on a school near Kampala, please email info@afhuk.org as soon possible. Many thanks.

Finally back online again!

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Last week, fasthosts, the company that hosts the servers running afhuk.org was hacked.

As a security precaution, they changed the login passwords for every single user account registered with them, locking hundreds if not thousands of users out of their own websites.

With the phone lines jammed on the day, and this happening over the weekend, we’ve had to wait for the password to be posted, snail mail to one of us, before working like crazy behind the scenes to get the afhuk.org back online.

Thankfully, we’re back, and we’re now looking long at hard at alternatives to fasthosts after this debacle.
