AfHUK is working with AfriKids to help them to develop the design for their new eco-lodge in the upper east region of Ghana. The lodge will be a cornerstone of AfriKids’ strategy to eliminate reliance on western donations to fund development projects run by the AfriKids Ghana team: every cedi profit from the lodge will go directly towards funding the development projects of AfriKids Ghana.
Design concepts prepared by AfHUK have been presented to Afrikids in 2009 incorporating traditional and sustainable building methods and technology: and these are being developed to Stage C proposals for hand-over to local designers in early 2010.
