Learning Planet helps communities in isolated and inaccessible parts of the world to create safe, stimulating, sustainable environments where both children and adults can learn and develop new skills. AfH London worked with Learning Planet on a school for very young children in the remote Nepalese village of Dhawa in the Gorkha district. The new school uses solar energy to light the building at night, and self-contained sanitation. As the only communal powered structure in the vicinity, the school also functions as a civic hub for village meetings and social events. We are pleased to report that the school withstood the earthquakes which shook the country in April 2015.
